Spring is a time for renewal. Our calendars say the New Year is on January 1st, but let’s be honest, the real new year is spring. When the snow and ice melt and daffodils grow, robins return from winter, and pitchers and catchers report.
Everyone is hopeful as is every team. The clichés abound “this is our year” and everyone is in the best shape of their life. Well at least this guy is
This spring also brings a first look at new MLB rules. Something that as a big fan of chaos, I am very excited about. Pitch clocks, new balk rules, the bases are bigger! Old guys on new teams! All the chaos! We will definitely be keeping our eye on all the chaos possibilities and report them as needed. But for now, it is time to celebrate new beginnings, the hope that this year will be your year, and bask in borrowed sunlight from Spring Training in Florida and Arizona and pretend like it is spring.
Ignore the snowstorm outside your window, crank up your thermostat, make a cool drink and a snack, and play a little Spring Training bingo, because you deserve it. We all deserve it.
You can make your own spring training bingo card! You’re welcome.
"it's spring training for all of us" is always a winner.
